A Propulsive Road-Racer that’s Built for Speed
Finely tuned for race day, the HOKA Cielo X1 2.0 is designed to get you to the finish line as fast as possible. Several updates are seen when compared to the previous version including a redesigned upper, a bouncier-feeling midsole, and the loss of around an ounce in weight.
The first thing we have to talk about is the midsole because it’s a noticeable update. The dual-density PEBA midsole foam combined with the winged carbon-fiber plate is the star of the show, absorbing impact and propelling you forward through the gait cycle. It also features a more aggressive rocker profile, focusing on one thing: speed.
In the previous version, the upper left a bit to be desired but the Cielo X1 2.0 flips the script. Redesigned with an engineered mesh with 3D overlays, the upper fits more comfortably, feeling lighter and more breathable than ever. After lacing up you’ll notice the warp knit tongue sitting comfortably on top of the foot, made with 100% recycled polyester. To finish things off, the outsole sports sticky rubber for traction as well as visible strategic cuts into the midsole. The sticky rubber handles wonderfully on the road while the cutouts help to reduce overall weight.
